Lawrence of Arabia is one of the best examples of a movie
with an objective philosophy out there. Lawrence does not believe in fate,
is not ashamed to flaunt his acheivments, and does things because he
wants to. His actions are almost entirely consistent with objective
philosophy. (Except for the scene where he goes insane and lets his emotions
get the best of him for a little while, resulting in a masacure) Even
when he saves a man from the desert, he does so only because he wanted
to impress people, and later kills the same man to deliver justice.
The movie is unconventional by today's standards, with the long desert
walking scenes, and all. The movie is filled with beautiful images, and
there is hardly a shot that I wouldn't hang on my wall. It didn't get a
five, because the ending is hardly climatic, and many of the shots were
held far too long. But if you want to see a movie showing man as he
should be shown- a proud hero, Lawrence of Arabia is the best movie to
see.
